THE DEPARTMENT OF CIVIL AND WATER ENGINEERING
Civil & Water Engineering
It was one of the first Departments to open its doors to the first intake of students in 1991. It started as the Department of Water Engineering and then later transformed into the Department of Civil and Water Engineering. It offers a multidisciplinary engineering degree program in the areas of water resources, sanitation engineering, structural engineering, geotechnical engineering, transportation engineering & construction engineering
The main objectives of the Department are:
- to provide a sound academic base for graduate Civil Engineers
- to undertake quality research and consultancy work for the mutual benefit of the University and Industry at large to foster relations with other institutes of high learning locally and internationally.

Undergraduate
Bachelor of Engineering Honours Degree in Civil & Water Engineering
NORMAL ENTRY
At least 3 `A' level passes in Pure/Additional/Mechanical Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry with either Computer Science, Technical Graphics / Drawing or Engineering Drawing.
SPECIAL ENTRY
- a) ND in Civil Engineering or ND Water Resources Engineering plus 2 years post-ND working experience
Or
- b) HND in Civil Engineering or Water Resources Engineering plus 1 year of post-HND working experience.
